Bring in two strikers a right back and a left sided winger with pace . and were in business . Pedro and Duncan' Should be the defensive midfielders .

Is there no prospects in the youth or lower leagues at home and abroad? Surely thats where we should be looking. Or maybe someone who has a problem with the management like Taure or Lukaku?

Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
Carroll was facing useless again but TBF he's played for three weeks with a broken foot
Sakho had a terrible day but still a good player and more effective when played through the middle
The other two I'm not having and if we want to challenge the top four a top striker should be what we spend the bulk of our budget on maybe another attacking player if we can ship Valencia out
I'd definitely take wynaldum

Sakho was utterly useless today. Kept getting dispossessed because he dribbled too much, and then missed a sitter in the second half that might cost us a Europa place.

I'd put him on tantrum watch, and if he has another one, get rid of him.

Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
Strikers are often a bit temperamental. I'm sure I can remember Geoff Hurst having barren spells, then suddenly scoring loads.

Sakho's probably in that category. Worth keeping, unless his shit spell drags on.

Has no one noticed that Shay given had a hell of a game today?

Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
I have said this for a long while. I'd like to see the decks cleared, I don't see any of these four as improving players. Clearly the club agrees they don't have what it takes, or they wouldn't be announcing a big striker coming in.

If Emenike was available for next to nothing as a squad filler in the meantime, I would gladly take him. I think his attitude seems spot on, filled in out wide too, and Bilic clearly has a fair amount of belief in him. I like him despite the lack of goals.

I say this, but I think the most likely outcome is that Carroll, Sakho and Valencia all stay this Summer. Sullivan seems extremely cautious when it comes to moving players on. It's a weakness.

That would be a dream but unfortunately the moody Senegaleser wouldn't stand for that, he'd be off in a heartbeat.

Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
Sakho has mental problems. Not the same player that he was, I would keep him as a back up striker assuming he is not on too much money hoping he might come good again, although I doubt it. Trouble is he won't want to be backup because he thinks he is better than his.

Carroll, I think he means well and tries his best, but he is not good enough to start games. He offers something different off the bench as a plan b, but he shouldn't be a plan b considering the wages he is on, a luxury we can't afford, he is also liable to get injured again, so I would get him off the payroll and cut our losses.

Valencia is too lightweight for premier league, constantly falls on the floor and gets muscled off the ball, get rid.

Emenike is an absolute joke, amazing Kung fu kick today, get rid.

We need two top strikers in case one gets injured and another as back up.

Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
Valencia is simply not good enough and MUST go, even if we can only get a couple of million for him. Pointless player except for once in a blue moon.

I like Emenike's attitude and wouldn't mind him as a 4th choice striker, but can't see him pulling up any trees.

Sakho and Carroll are a worry. When they play together there doesn't seem to be any chemistry or understanding between them. Both of them seem to think they're Messi and frequently lose possession by holding on to the ball and trying to dribble too much. I don't mind if either of them stay or go, to be honest - depends who we get in.

I have a growing feeling that the answer might be right under our noses. Antonio has already shown his versatility this season, but how about playing him as a striker. I don't think it's pushing it to say he is the best finisher at the club - knows where the goal is, strong, powerful, great in the air, scares the shit out of defenders. I don't think he would let us down.

Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
For me Sakho is a one season wonder (this is what a one season wonder is, not Kane like some morons predicted) Valencia, for me, is a disgrace, Emineke is just another in a long time of these ridiculous January loan signings that seem to have become our hallmark in recent years, ableit he is better than the other frauds we had to witnesss

Carroll is the only one I'd keep.

Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
i'd keep Sakho. There's a good player in there somewhere. Carroll is a good alternative as well.
Neither of these are good enough to be our first choice strikers though.

I too wouldn't mind seeing Antonio given some time as a striker. He seems to have everything needed and could turn out to be very exciting.

Scored about 15 goals between them this season.
Need 3 or 4 new strikers.
Only one worth keeping might be Sakho but he's moody and injury prone.

Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
I'd get rid of the loan signings. None of them were awful but none of them really shone either.

I don't know what the others are like in training and off the pitch but it might be that would be more important than some of the displays on it in a disjointed season for our strikers this year. None of them really got a good run of games or made the position their own.

We need a quality talisman up front but we don't need two. We only play one up front and you won't keep them happy.
